An excellent qualitative purpose statement or statements provide information about the study (central phenomenon) and the sites that were researched (Creswell and Creswell, 2018). It is crucial to add words like purpose, intent, study aim, or objective which will bring attention to the main central idea (Creswell and Creswell, 2018). Researchers should always use present or verb tense in journal articles and dissertations and the future tense in proposals because they are presenting a study that has yet to be conducted (Creswell and Creswell, 2018).
It is important to use action verbs which will offer an excellent learning process like understand, develop, explore, examine the meaning of generating or discover, keep the inquiry open and show an emerging design (Creswell and Creswell, 2018). Leave out phrases such as useful, confident, and informed because they can cause us to think something may have or may not have happened. The intent should help readers understand the purpose of the study, the questions, answers to the issues, and the data presented is understandable and clear to all parties active in the research (Creswell and Creswell, 2018)
